Wellington Farm Park
Grayling, Michigan - Where It Is Always 1932 - www.wellingtonfarmpark.org
Wellington Farm USA – Step back in time to 1932 rural Michigan living with a visit to the Wellington Farm. Wellington Farm was an actual community in northern Michigan. Farming was the main activity between the 1880's and the early 1900's. In 1918 the post office was closed and those services were provided by the post office in Grayling. When that happened, the people began to move away and very little remains today other than a few farm buildings. A few years ago one man and his family began creating a living history farm now called Wellington Farm USA. He collected farm equipment, authentic buildings and stories and histories from around the region. He built Wellington Farm into the living museum it is today near the site of one of the old post offices.

Wellington Farm USA Park is described as a 60-acre
open-air interpretive museum that gives visitors a chance to
experience life as it was in rural America during the Great
Depression. The park contains a Blacksmith Shop, Grist Mill,
Sawmill, Carpenter's Shop, Machine Shed, Farmer's Market,
Summer Kitchen and Barnyard. All of the shops are functional
and have restored and authentic equipment inside. During the
season, based on availability, craftsmen are in these shops
doing the work in the same way and with the same tools as in
the 1930's.
Everything in the farm/park is arranged so the visitor can
experience living history first hand. There are jams,
jellies, sauces and cookbooks. The old Farm Market Building
has been renovated to become a Museum of Agriculture and
will feature a schedule of changing exhibits.
