Hart Historic District
Hart Michigan
Step Into The Past - The downtown Hart Historic District contains the most historical buildings and collections in Oceana County and it was created by volunteers! The district is located in downtown Hart on the edge of Chippewa Creek in an old business section on the site of the Centennial Northern Market Chesapeake Ohio Railroad deadhead.
Several historical collections are displayed at the Hart
Historic District in downtown Hart, Michigan at the corner
of Washington and Union Streets, four blocks east of the
stoplight. Wandering through this district of historic
buildings and attractions, you will step back 150 years into
the past.
The Historic District is home to a summer Friday Night
Concert series during the months of July and August as well
as hosting a Heritage Days Festival over Labor Day Weekend
in September. A Farmers Market was built with an open
pavilion and kitchen facilities. This open pavilion can be
rented. The Sackrider Church, moved to Hart in 1990, still
provides a wonderful setting for weddings and other
gatherings. New displays and additional buildings are being
added to the District.
