In
1847 settlers from Zeeland, the Netherlands, arrived here and
created a new community. The hardships endured and the achievements
of this group are preserved in the Dekker Huis project by the
Zeeland Historical Society.
Zeeland is home to Herman Miller and Howard Miller and a number of other manufacturers. While the community honors its heritage, it continues to develop and move forward to serve the needs of the future and manage growth. The picturesque downtown invites you to take a stroll and enjoy the shops.
There is an active arts community here and you can find more information by checking the Festivals section at www.feelthezeel.com .

The artist is Kathleen Van Tubbergen.
