While exploring the area you can find the gorgeous footbridge pictured here and you may locate a hidden waterfall, one of only three in the lower peninsula of Michigan; it is just outside the town of Mesick, Michigan. There is a good chance of viewing bald eagles on Hodenpyl Pond from several shoreline points. Try the new barrier-free shoreline observation deck at the
