mantonIn the spring walk in the woods looking for morel mushrooms, play golf on our amazing 18-hole golf course, Emerald Vale. Check out the campground and fish at Lake Billings, check out the farm markets which offer pure maple syrup, right from the sugar bush.

In the summer go canoeing on the Manistee River at Chippewa Landing, just 4 miles north of Manton on US-131. Get back to nature and take a walk through Manton Pathway and Gardens. Camp at the Manton RV Campground and enjoy swimming and go fishing.

In the fall the color tours are very popular as well as area hunting.

In the winter months hit the trails and snowmobile. Go to Manton Pathway and Gardens to cross country ski or snowshoe. Downhill skiing is less than 20 minutes away. Don't forget the ice fishing and other activities on the lakes in and around Manton.

Visit the Manton Area Historical Museum, which is located on US-131. Next to the museum the Memorial Park features cannons and poems from Julia Moore. Bring a picnic and enjoy the pavilion and Lake Billings just across the way.

Manton's farm market has homegrown produce (some organic) and fruit (seasonal); homemade baked goods and pure maple syrup. The Manton area has a harness shop, which does tack and saddle repair. Rustic furniture is made locally. (summer hours only) Wednesdays, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at the park.

On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend the Manton Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Annual Car/Truck and Craft Show

Labor Day weekend features the Manton Harvest Festival

On the first Saturday of every month enjoy the music and dancing at the Old Time Country Music Jamboree.

You can practice your golf game at Emerald Vale. And don't be surprised to see a horse and buggy driving down the road.
