Michigan attractions and Terrific Towns
Evart
is a terrific town in Osceola county Michigan. In the early 1800's
the area that is now Osceola county was known as "the Land of Green
Gold" due to the vast expanses of timber forests. While the timber
is long gone, Evart is still there and is a treasure in itself.
The Evart museum has microfilms of the local paper available from
1872. Historical artifacts and photos are on display on a
rotating basis.

Here is a town that is full of things to explore and enjoy; miles and miles of trails, historic buildings and parks, a vibrant arts community and more than one mysterious legend that lives on today. While there is plenty to do in town you are only minutes from the Chippewa River State Forest, the Pere Marquette State Forest and the Muskegon River.
