Chesaning Michigan.
Chesaning
(Chi-asin "Place of the Big Rock") is located in central
Saginaw County right on the historic Shiawassee River.
The picture is of down town and tells you very
little about this remarkable town.
Home to the Showboat, a great Historical Museum, good places to eat and that incredible river, this town could easily be considered the scrapbooking/quilting capitol of Michigan as well.
Downtown is home to several old time businesses and
great places to dine but, it also serves as the gateway
to the River. The community has long been shaped
by the river and the beauty and wealth it brings with
it. Today it is still at the center of community
activities and offers wonderful recreation opportunities
for visitors. The kayaking on the new weir makes a
trip here worthwhile.
