The Seaver House - Harrisville, Michigan

Seaver House B&BThe picture is of the house itself and this part looks out onto an apple tree orchard that is still part of the multi-acre farm.  You can go for a walk in the orchard, stroll down to the pond, visit a genuine Michigan root cellar.  Be sure to check out the historic barns and farm buildings that are on the property.  This B & B is just a couple miles from the Lake Huron beaches, State Park and golf course yet, it is so quiet you might think you are miles from anywhere.  When you stay, take time to go out at night.  The canopy of stars is spectacular and if you wait awhile you will even see satellites crossing the sky.

Seaver House Great RoomWhen you get inside you are in for a treat.  An old fashioned Michigan farm kitchen opens onto some very special rooms and common areas.  The great room is floor is Belgian marble and has game tables and reading materials.  The ceiling in this room is actually a glass atrium and seeing it is worth the trip in itself.  The sitting room and the bedrooms all open off this area and the original decor remains including some remarkable murals.  This building is an old Michigan farmhouse on the outside and an extraordinary example of decorating on the inside.  Everything is quiet and comfortable for adult travelers who want to enjoy a serene country setting.
