The Raymond House Bed & Breakfast

Raymond House Bed & BreakfastBuilt in 1872 by a prestigious town founder, the house was occupied continuously by the Raymond family for 112 years. Restoration began in 1983; the Inn was placed on the Michigan Register of Historical Sites in 1992. The Inn's original Victoriana is preserved; outside are the gingerbread facade, steep sloping roofs and white icicle trim. Inside are classic mouldings, framed ancestral photographs, brightly colored bedspreads and lace curtains.

If you want a getaway that combines all kinds of things to see and do with the opportunity to slow down to utter relaxation, this is probably where you should go.  This inn is QUIET and the grounds just beg you to wander among the trees doing absolutely nothing.

If you have to go have some fun, no problem.  The inn has an art gallery / shop inside.  The historical society and museum are a few blocks away as is the marina, the oldest hardware store in Michigan and a most unusual shop, Karen's Creations.
