Michigan getaway vacations to
Michigan attractions and Terrific Towns

The address may be in Charlevoix but, your stay at the Horton Creek Inn B&B will be more like a journey back into Michigan's historic past. Hidden away in the middle of 60 acres of pines and hardwoods, it is easy to imagine that this Cedar Log home is as far from a town as you can get. You can stroll through the gardens and forest, visit the butterfly house or relax in the whirlpool. When you are ready to go inside you will find every amenity and modern convenience.
The stunning architecture on the outside is complemented by the beautiful wood work and rustic furnishings inside. Breakfast on the veranda during fall color season must be seen to be believed. When I visited in the spring there were hundreds of Monarch Butterflies hatching and the flowers were awesome.
After way too much to eat you can take the drive around the lake and visit all of Ernest Hemingway's old haunts. Your innkeepers know all of the history of the region. Of course, the beauty of this spot might just keep you right here, taking it easy and dreaming. The combination of location in the woods, Hemingway haunts, hospitality and the close proximity of neat towns makes this a must do.
