Scotch Eggs in Grand Marais

 scotch eggs

A very old favorite in the British Isles. In past centuries Scotch Eggs were sometimes called birds' nests. I call them flat delicious and very hard to find.

These are best when in the company of friends and a cold beverage when you are enjoying a Michigan weekend getaway.

saloonQuality is very important so I always try to make it to the Dunes Saloon in Grand Marais, home of the Lake Superior Brewing Co.

They have the eggs and the requisite cold beverage.

This isn't the full recipe, just ingredients

INGREDIENTS - 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce (if desired) 10 to 12 small hard boiled eggs

1 lg. egg, well beaten

Fine dry bread crumbs (make your own or use packaged seasoned bread crumbs)

1 tbsp. seasoned flour, (made with 1 tbsp. flour, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. black pepper, and 1/8 tsp. dried thyme)
