Back Roads
Michigan getaway vacations to
Michigan attractions and Terrific Towns
This
is a special place on a lot of levels and I can hardly wait to get
back there. An historic building and a family business that
has been around since 1909, Schuler's is one of those restaurants
that should be on your list; and it is worth returning to.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The decor is what an old time Michigan restaurant "up north" should be and the service is excellent. You should plan to be very hungry when you sit down. The portions are generous but more importantly, the food is just plain delicious.
There is one problem with this restaurant, I may not be able to order prime rib anywhere else, ever. This was simply the best I have ever had.
Travel in Michigan will take you to nearly endless destinations. As you enjoy the sights and attractions, a little snack or a full meal will eventually become a necessity. In this section, and by region, I will let you in on some of the best places for some of my favorites.
The food destinations in this section are pretty much my favorites in every category.
Pinot Noir - made in Michigan.
Coppers for Hot Dogs
Jones for ice cream
Solberg's
