Sno*Drift Rally - Lewiston, Michigan
Always In January - Sheridan Valley Motel
There is a great weekend of winter road racing in Montmorency County, the Sno*Drift Rally. It is the only part of Rally America held in the winter. In 2017, the Friday night stages are held in Lewiston. On Saturday the stages are based in Atlanta and Hillman.
The races are held on real roads and the races are real fast. The cars run in one minute intervals, leaving from downtown Lewiston, and are timed on each stage. Racers must drive within the speed limits between stages, but once the stage is hot, anything goes. These guys aren't slowed down by snow and ice. It seems that just encourages them to go faster.
