Always In September - Mason Area Chamber of Commerce
The flags will be flying for Mason’s annual Down Home Days Festival held every September on the square downtown. Between 4,000 and 6,000 folks will attend during the weekend. Down Home Days starts off on Thursdays with the last concert of the season of the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Thursday Night Live” Courthouse Concert Series.
The signature event of Down Home Days begins on Saturday morning with the annual Courthouse Show in downtown Mason. Other events from past festivals include the Buy Nearby Guy” mascot character Fading World, the L.A. Cloggers, “Ukulele Mania” by MMUGS, “Kids’ Korral” near the main Courthouse steps, with a bounce house and games. Down Home Days features a mix of arts and crafts, flea market, food vendors, entertainment and community group booths, the produce market will take place as it usually does every Saturday this time of year on Maple St.
The Mason Firefighters Association will hold their pancake breakfast, Friends of the Mason Library will hold its book sale at the Mason Library and the Mason Area Historical Society will have its pie sale at Mason Area Historical Museum.
