Fish Feast - St. Ignace, Michigan

Always In July - Always In February -  or

fish feastThe Fish Feast was born in 2006 when the newly formed Events Committee started remembering the days back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s when pier after pier was filled with fishing trawlers unloading barrels of whitefish and lake trout bound for Great Lakes destinations like Buffalo, Chicago and Cleveland.

The festival is about the great taste of fresh fried fish in a festival atmosphere, showcasing the talented local chefs, and a general celebration of the old days. The Fish Feast kicks off with the Fishermen’s Memorial Blessing, afterwards visitors can enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk, their favorite fish dish, and a beer, wine and soda tent. Live musical entertainment adds to the festive atmosphere, and don’t forget the famous St. Ignace ‘Fireworks Over The Bay’ at dusk!

The downtown waterfront marina is a perfect venue for the Fish Feast. The food and dining tents stretch across the pier on Moran Bay where fishermen brought in the days' catch in times gone by, and still do today. Have fun trying a range of seafood dishes and a little wine, it’s a great party with live music and fireworks after dark.

The St. Ignace Fish Feast is as family friendly as a great festival can be, with folks under age 21 admitted free.
